Our subject

Our subject is to fight violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres.
It comes from the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goal number 5, which is entitled "Gender equality".

Our research question

The research question we have formulated together is "How can we help women in abusive relationships to get out of them and ensuring their safeties by empowering them using web technologies?". The two projects ideas below try to answer that question.

Project 1 · (Matching system)

Context

When? Where? Who? Why? Explain the specific context of your project.

We all need the company of others, and women who are or have been in violent relationships need these more. Only among women can these victims truly speak out their pain and confusion. And the goal of this service is Let all women who feel the potential or threat of violence can get help and encouragement in the close small women's mutual aid group.
We recommend a female mutual help group composed of 2-3 people, which helps to encourage women to become the best self and realize that they are not alone and continue to grow. This application is available to the whole world.
The specific services that the application will provide include daily security check-in reminders, real-time upload location, chat rooms, daily sharing, etc. The communication within the group, including talking or making some suggestions, will become a source of strength for women to help women.

Target + persona

For whom? Describe the users and beneficiaries of your project, and then suggest a quick persona (refer to Part 2 of the course for methodology tips).

The beneficiaries are those woman who are in abuse relationship, have psychological shadow of violence, feel insecure. The users can be those beneficiaries who need help, and those women who are willing to help.

List of hobbies and passions: Cooking, Visit gallery and exhibition, Traveling
List of needs, desires, dreams: Settles in Paris, makes many friends in this city, and start a family with someone she loves, and most importantly, get out of the psychological shadows
List of problems and frustrations: Growing up in domestic violence from her father. Even though her parents have already divorced for over ten years, there has been a deep shadow in her heart. She has never been able to enter a relationship, insecurities have always been with her.
Major issue related to the subject: Anne‘s psychological trauma has never healed, and always feeling lonely and scared when she is alone.

Service offered

What? How? Explain how your solution works, what it enables the user to do, and how is solves the initial issue.

Our solution is an application that create aid group of 2-3 women. The application supports inviting friends into groups and automatically matching teammates. Women meet here with their nackname but with strict background check. In the group, it supports daily check-in, location synchronization sharing, chat, daily sharing and other functions. In the group, Users can check the geographic location of each other and protect each other's safety, so that women don't have to face danger alone.
The application pretends to be a recipe sharing application, in extreme cases, to protect women from being interrupted when they ask for help.
In this application, the smaller group service allows each individual to get enough attention compared to the community. At the same time, the smaller circle allows them to express themselves more honestly and truthfully, so that women can be inspired in intimate relationships. And realize that I am not alone.

Features + user flow

Explain what features your project involves and hierarchize them from the most important one to the least. Remember: a feature is a verb + a noun, it describes an action that the user can do.

Then, for your first and most important feature (the key feature), write down and draw the user flow: what steps will the user have to go through, from the initial situation to the final situation? Again, refer to Part 2 of the course for methodological tips.

Initial situation: The user lives alone in an unfamiliar environment, and there is no way to ensure his own safety elit
Step 1: The user downloaded the software and chose to automatically match the group
Step 2: Get to know each other with your peers and communicate the reasons for using the software
Step 3: Check in in the user group and confirm your safety to your peers
Final situation: The user no longer feels insecure and can continue to live bravely

App-Elles is the application providing service of emergency call for help for women and girls victims of violence. It is quite similar with our's project, but it provide service only for emergence while for our's it provide service daily for long-term recovering anf
Institute for Girls Development is a organization offering therapy and assessment, community education workshops and events for girls and parents. It also use the power of community to enpowering women.
